Hello.. what do people eat before a 5k run?
When I’m training I run very early in the morning so I don’t eat anything until after. However, this morning it’s at 10.50 so will be starving!x thanks x

Whatever you would usually eat for breakfast.... a long as it is not too heavy... leave at least 1 hr 30 before you run, if it is a light meal two hours if heavier...If it is a normal run, do what you always do but later, or eat more...
If it is a race.. maybe hone it up a tad...
There is some useful advice here..

I ran my HM on a light breakfast... We are all different, so what is right for one does not necessarily suit another
Enjoy your run
Hi, yeah I’m hoping to have a fruit omelette I think , not too heavy but enough to not make me feel sick! It’s a race, though I’m not racing I’m just doing it for experience! Thanks so much xx
That sounds fine.... enjoy it and please do post your run report Do hydrate well too... every day of course, but with the weather so humid, it is even more important :)x
Aw thanks! I will!! I don’t normally like running too late in the morning because of the weather, I’ll pop on later! Xx
I tend to have a banana and maybe yoghurt, 30 mins or so before starting. I’m the same with 10Ks too. Happy running!🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️
Thanks, didn’t hunk of a banana but it’s a good idea! Slow release! Good job on the 10ks! That’s my next training step!x
For a 5k run, I either eat nothing (just a cuppa) or a banana 🍌 - that’s all I need. For longer runs I definitely don’t run on empty. Some people swear by porridge, but I think I’d find that too heavy. 🤔
I’m normally out by 5am, so to have nothing I’d probably pass out! I’ll try the fruit omelette and hope it’s all good! X😂
