It's a lovely atmosphere. You can just go at your own pace and not worry at all. Do you have a local one?

Yep about 3 miles away, so no excuse.

That's really handy then. It seems to really vary, depending on where you live. I have my very local one and there are two or three others within 30 minutes that would be worth a try some time. But I was looking for one to do in Scotland while we're on holiday and they seem very few and far between.

That looks absolutely stunning!!. Have a good one 👌✌

It's a beautiful place, I love it there. So lucky to live nearby.

Thank you I had a lovely run. I was the 30 minute pacer this morning. Got a few people across the line in a sub 30 minute time. I finished in 29:42, it’s hard to gauge. But I had some happy runners at the end.

Wow, that's brilliant! I don't understand how the pacer thing works, do you have to slow down / speed up to try and get a time of exactly 30 minutes? And the parkrunners aiming for 30 try to keep up with you? I don't think I could handle the pressure! (Not that I'm anywhere near a 30 minute 5k... 😂) Well done, I bet it was a nice feeling getting them there.

I just set up my average pace and distance on my running watch. I had a yellow high viz vest with 30 pacer on my back. So anyone who was aiming for 30 mins tried to keep up with me.

All I had to do was run at a 6:00 min/km pace. In the end I did a 5:58 average pace and got a few people across the line in a sub 30 minute 5k time.

Looks lovely, good luck. My first park run (walk run anyway) will be in about 4 weeks I reckon.

Thanks, it was fine for the run but definitely grumbling a bit now... Might give it a few days to settle down before starting the next magic plan runs.

Thanks Stephen_UK, much more fun than last week!

Is that your parkrun!? Looks amazing. 😍 Might even be worth the hills! 😂

Yes, it's Bedgebury Pinetum. The pic is the view from the Café and visitor centre. The actual Parkrun starts uphill (of course! 😂) from there in the forest. And yes, definitely worth the stupid sodding hills!

Sodding nature! 😂

Thanks, it was fun, so much cooler than last week's heatwave! And my hip that has been playing up behaved itself. Nicest thing of all is that one of my sons is doing C25K now and he came too and ran his first Parkrun today. I didn't try to keep up with him though, he's Speedy Gonzalez and I am more Brian the Snail.

Debs, I also run with my son and he’s way ahead of me. But it’s really nice doing it with a member of the family.

Beautiful photo, by the way.

Yes, it felt lovely setting off together and we had agreed beforehand that he could just go ahead and do his own thing. He's just started Week 7 and I think he was scared I would make him walk the last part after he'd done his 25 minutes! 😂

Official Parkrun time is 41.24 - that's 15 seconds slower than my pb. Close but no cigar!
