Dogs and Runners

Had my first dog incident this evening when a pug type thing (luckily on a lead) lunged up at me as I ran past and tried to bite my arm. Owners were contrite. And luckily my brand new running coat sustained no rips. But this running lark can be fraught!

Oh my life! I've had issues with dogs! I am a dog lover but I am allergic. Anyway I am really surprised by how dog owners seem to think it's ok for their dog to attack a person

Glad you are ok. Irresponsible canine owners should be strangled with own extension lead though 🤔

There is always irresponsible dog owners. A few weeks back I was out running and there was a woman with 2 dogs and she'd let them go on a long lead which they shouldn't have been as they were next to the road and I had to slow right down to go round about her . Some people should be on a lead not the dog as they haven't a clue 😂😂. Hope the rest of your runs go without incident 😊

Thank goodness you're ok. My very first run was last week and a wee poodle like dog attached itself to my leg. It wasn't on a lead and the owner was just laughing. I was totally traumatised as I was only on my 2nd 60seconds of running & I was panicking trying to listen to what I was supposed to do & disentangle the dog. No harm done though and I'm now on W2R2 😊

Thanks for all the empathy, folks! It converts a bad experience into a forgettable one. And one of the many upsides of a smashing new running coat is that I can’t wait to run in the rain...
