Early March 2019 I graduated after 17 weeks doing C25K. Then on May 6th, following Juju’s Magic 10 on Bridge to 10k forum, I ran 10k in 1h 7m.
What an absolutely fabulous journey I’m on. From struggling to run 30 seconds at the start to this. I started because I’d realised my fitness had dwindled away and at 55 I needed to address the matter. But I had never appreciated how much more I’d gain.
I’m more confident, self esteem has got better, body shape has improved and I have greater resilience to deal with life’s little blips!
There’s been times when the gremlins have crept in, but I’m getting better at sending them away! There’s been some IC time, leaving me feeling glum. But this love for running is mine and I’m simply loving it.
Soon I’ll be thinking of my next goal (these forums once again will no doubt be my guide) but for now it’s consolidation, strengthening and enjoying. And biggest of thanks to all on here and other associated forums. You’re the best bunch ever. Happy running all. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
