A Personal Challenge!

I’d like to share a little of my personal journey with others who I know will empathise. I love other people’s stories and find them very moving and motivational. I can’t remember ever feeling better in my life - fitness-wise and in terms of self esteem - than when I recently completed C25K. It was my goal when I turned 64 last September and my life feels transformed. First I lost over 2 stone before starting the programme in February. I am currently in Budapest visiting my son who is studying here. When I came on a visit last last October he was taking my arm to help me hobble around due to my having a painful foot condition. Today he is taking me on a 5k run around Margaret Island, an island in the Danube in the middle of the city. Fingers crossed I can do it! There’s a running track around the edge and I have managed 5k a few times. Wish me luck!!

Well done you! This programme is incredible, like you I’ve lost over 2 stones and would now opt to walk and take the stairs!! Keep it up and enjoy what sounds like a gorgeous run in Budapest! Pics!!!

What a wonderful story and what a wonderful transformation. Amazing. I too lost 2 stones before I began the C25k journey and graduated on Saturday. I started running on Jan 1st with my stepdaughter who shared her New Years resolution to get fit the night before. At the time I was feeling very low and was struggling with a heartbreaking broken family relationship.I knew I needed to do something to try and lift my mood. Very soon I was amazed at how running helped my mood to lift and how my sleep improved. I feel like running has saved me.We run together 3 times a week and repeated runs early on until we felt brave enough to move on. The programme is fantastic. I will be celebrating my 60th birthday in July and my present to myself is feeling fit and healthy. I wish you well fellow runner.
