Igottagettrhuthis, id say that first you need to be able to walk... I'm not sure what your knee problem is. I had knee problems in the past, and before attempting any exercise I was told to strengthen the muscles around the knee to make sure it has enough support. You might also want to look at a support band (not sure what the technical name is), and check with a chiropractor or similar to make sure you don't make it worse... Good luck and hope you can run again soon!

Your post could be my post! I have the same problem. Both knees are really hurting me (even when I turn over in bed!) and I don't know how long to leave it before starting the podcasts again. I fear if ^leave it too long I'll lose motivation. Sorry - I'm not much help to you!

That's ok hun. Not going to be defeated i will run again once i feel better. Don't let our injuries win we can still do this!! I will let you know when i am back in action. My advice to you would be the same advice I'm going to take, return to it once we are match fit and i am going to go slow and steady. Listen to our bodies. 😊😊

Me too, graduated in March, did 3 consolidation runs and then my knee was so painful I had to stop. It feels like it’s going to snap if I straighten it properly when I walk. Physio has said I have done the right thing resting it all these weeks and sent me some strengthening knee excercises to do. I’ve lost motivation though and need a good kick to get me started again, physio said start from beginning. It’s so frustrating isn’t it? Xx

I’m so glad I found this site - reading your stories makes me feel that I’m not alone. I too was very fit - running and playing tennis most days - then Polymialgia struck followed by sciatica - every time I try to restart exercising again(couch to 5K) it seems to trigger the sciatica. It can make me feel very depressed as fitness has always been a part of my life. I have requested a Dexa scan from my GP but she has refused so far telling me to wait until I stop taking Alendronic acid & Natecal D3.Has anyone else had this problem with their GP?
