feel like I won the lotteryπ€£ - just 5 weeks ago staggered to run 60 seconds- today managed the dreaded run 3 of week5, not with any great technique but determined it wasnt going to beat me- I cannot believe what is happening to me on this programme
I will never be an athlete but this 58 year old unfit overweight newbie is doing a half decent impressionππ
come on fellow newbies we can do this just give it a goπ’πββοΈ

Delight not dread..anticipation not apprehension..every run is different..every one you will be ready for...because you..yes, YOU are an awesome Runner!!!!
Sorry I didnt mean to frighten anyone off , really sorry if anyone is now spooked about trying the run π’ my only intention was to encourage others to face their fears as its all in the mind
my sincere apologies to anyone I may have unintentionally put off I wrote the post whilst euphoric from achieving somthing I myself had built up to be bigger than it should have been π€‘ - trust the programme it does works
A lot of this journey is about conquering your fears/anxieties, there's A LOT more going off than just physical exercise. You went out there and you took on that fear and won. You're not a π€‘ You're a warrior.
As someone who hasn't completed this run i can honestly say this post has uplifted me and made me feel like anything is possible.
Do I still dread it this particular run? Yes.
Do I feel I have every right to use this adjective? Yes. Because that is how I feel and my feelings are valid.
Do i feel more positive because notquite tired also dreaded it and nailed it? Hell yes! π
If this was how she was feeling, why can't she be honest about it? Surely we should be celebrating the fact that even though this negative emotion took hold, she got up, got out and turned that negative feeling into a positive one.
I just hope that this comment won't put her off continuing to document this amazing journey as i for one look forward to reading her posts.
AMAZING! I am so pleased for you, what an achievement. I think we all feel apprehensive about this run so it must feel absolutely brilliant to have smashed it!
Woohoo! It's such a turning point in the programme and, for me, the milestone where I honestly started to believe that I could really complete the whole programme. My body knew it was ready, thanks to all the groundwork of previous weeks but this run was when my mind finally caught up! Massive well done and let us know how Week 6 goes!
Well done! W5R3 is a definite milestone run. You are doing brilliantly πππΌ
Thatβs amazing keep believing our bodies are incredible this ap is awesome for building on and I also remember they run itβs s turning point you can run for 20 minutes - bask in the glory and well done I graduated a couple of weeks ago and still on a high the difference is incredible .
You will constantly amaze yourself. The feeling of "I did it!" gets better after every run......I'm actually feeling ready for week 5 and looking forward to the challenge (I never "enjoy" the actual run but I do love the sense of achievement each new run brings) Keep going, try and distract yourself and enjoy ecery achievement. You can do this!
hello strugglingsurvivor thank you for you well wishes, much appreciated its lovely to have support
please dont βdreadβ week 2, just go and have a go nothing to lose. I have been told that my using terms like βdreadedβ will have had a detrimental effect on my fellow runners earlier in the programme -I hope my post has not been a negative influence, it was merely my honest thoughts regarding my own runπ€π€
good luck with week2 just take it slowly you be fine π
Completely understand your apprehension as I've felt the same BUT I have stuck with the programme and today completed w5 r3 at the 2nd try. Some runs are easier than others but every one is an achievement.
Use this forum to shout about your success and ask for support when you need it. It really does make a difference.
Congratulations! You've conquered a real turning-point in the programme and in your running life. Believe me when I say, you simply won't recognise yourself in a few months time!
