Week 2 run 1 again

Overweightmalenurse profile image

Getting ready for my run after over a week off due to painful knees. Decided to go back to week 2 run 1 as I know the small amount of progress is easily gone if I cont keep up with it.

Just go slow to minimise the impact and hopefully your knees will get used to it good luck 😚

Hi. Not great to be honest I only managed half the run. Just off to do the other half now.

Good luck with it. Hope you can run on a soft surface and make it as easy on your knees as possible.

Hi yes ran on grass which helped. Was able to do the full run as I felt ok half way through so putting yesterday's run down as a warm up lol. I know the 10 stone overweight isn't helping with the knee issues fingers crossed as the weight reduces the knee pain will ease up a bit.

Brilliant perseverance! And although it’s easier on the knees to run on grass, it is actually more work, so you are doing yourself all sorts of good! Just stay nice and slow and you will get there and you will shift some weight. If you need to stay on a week for longer, that’s fine too.
