Hiya I've recently been diagnosed with an under active thyroid and am looking to get fit. The London marathon has always been a bucket list thing for me to do. I was wondering if anyone had the same condition as me and if so how have they found running ?

Welcome to the forum.
There have been runners here with the same condition, but I would hesitate to state how they got on.
If you do a search of the site you may well come across posts referring to under active thyroid.
If you are going to give it a go, then this guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

A couple of people in my running club have this problem and run halfs and full marathons.
However I would still check with GP first and take in slow and steady, I am sure you will be able to achieve your goal but make sure you are mindful of what your body is telling you.

I have an under active thyroid, if you’re at the correct medication level there should be no reason why you can’t live a normal life. It can take a bit of fiddling to get the dose right so persevere with your GP if you’re still not feeling great but they say your levels are ok. I graduated this program last week, I don’t want to run marathons but I’m thinking I might progress to 10k at some point.
