I’ve ran my second run of week 1 .

Not looking for pity please don’t feel the need to reply I just need to unburden.

The last 24 hours have been one of the toughest I’ve ever gone through .

My 25 year old son who recently has had a relationship breakup and who had been drinking heavily went missing . I received texts throughout the night no mother would ever wish to read from a distraught beloved son . But at 5.50 am he walked back in to our home . I told him I loved him and told him too rest . And then I ran , I started this journey because I need to lose weight and get fitter . At first I thought i don’t need to run today look what I’ve been through but then I thought go for it do it !! And I did with eyes streaming I ran . Even my playlist helped me along .

It’s going to be a tough day ahead with difficult conversations and I’m sure more tears .

So all I really want to say is Don’t let anything stop you from running today .

And the run itself was good really good ! Thanks

Firstly hope your son is ok and with your support he will. Glad you went for your run as it can help clear your mind a bit and you need to look after yourself also. Hope things get better 😊😊

I can see why you need to unburden. It’s good that you managed to get out for a run because it’s important at a time like this, when you really need to support and nurture your son at such a traumatic time, that you remember you need to take care of your own wellbeing as well. You’ll find people here are kind and supportive so unburden as much as you need to. Do you also have access to qualified people who can offer specialist help?

Sorry you’ve had such a scary and upsetting time. Doesn’t matter their age, your kids can always put you through the ringer.

Running is a great way of processing and dealing with difficult times. I hope you are all able to reach some resolution today. He’s lucky to have you on his team.

That’s quite a lot to deal with but good on you for getting out there anyway. Know that if you need a day or so time out then that is Ok too. There’s some great advice on the c25k FAQ blog post, it’s a great read, a long read, maybe a nice distraction for you. Look forward to your future updates on your c25k journey xxx

That is so difficult Puffin.

I hope you can access some additional support, and that you and your family remain well.

Wishing you well.
