Yay ☺️

I’m in the minority here, I’m a 16 year old taking part in couch to 5k. I have scoliosis and so wore a back brace for 2 years. I’ve always wanted to get back in to running as I used to do athletics but I’ve never been very fit.

I have recently been having self esteem and mental health issues and the programme has helped so much

Today I completed week 5 run 3 and I feel amazingggg 💕

Fantastic and welcome! This forum is great because there are a variety of people. A few of us suffer from anxiety or depression and have found running really helpful so I hope you do to :-)

Well done! Exercise is great for mental and physical health and the forum always lets me see there is someone out there. We are a group of all sorts of ages. Keep it up, you can do it!

You ARE amazing! W5R3 is a real breakthrough moment on the programme and we all feel rightly proud to have achieved this milestone. I don't have any experience of your condition, but to achieve the same milestone with added challenges is all the more rewarding! Your are so right to be proud of yourself!

Ps - I definitely DO have past and current experience of anxiety and depression, and the running seems to be helping with that often (but by no means always).

w5r3 is a great feeling so well done to you. I have scoliosis too and was touched a few years ago when a friend made me a collage of pictures of people with scoliosis doing all sorts of things athletic. It taught me that it is something to work with rather than being a barrier. Good luck to you and I hope you continue to find running makes you feel great.

Proud to know you Sgxx. You sound much wiser than 16 (but maybe that's because before last year the last time I ran was when I was 16, and that was really stupid) . It will be wonderful to hear more about how you get on. Welcome to the Runners.👏👍👣👣👣👣👣

Welcome Sg ! I’m also prone to depression (the Black Dog) and anxiety (the Panic Moth) and I find both the programme and the forum massively helpful. It’s great to do something when all you have to do is listen to your coach and move your legs ! Take it slow and steady and you’ll get there. Happy running 😀
