Hi, after years of working in a wellbeing clinic the professionals there said to always make sure you stretch your calf muscles before and after running. You should count to 15 on each stretch. That may help

I had this really badly in week 1 and week 2. I work with physio’s and spoke to one about it. She said new aches and pains are common for runners and just really emphasised the calf stretches. So now I really stretch before and after runs, double the time I was stretching before and it’s not bothering me anymore!
Hope this helps xx

Make sure you are hydrating enough. You're really working your muscles now and muscles need lots, really, lots of water and oxygen to work well. That doesn't mean a glass of water before you go out, it's the day before especially and really every day. Try to ensure 2 litres of fluid every day with the majority being water.
Well done on your progress 👍😁
Stretch your calf's before and after running and hold for 20 seconds and then 40 seconds and if possible a 3rd set for a minute. Also calf compression sleeves are handy, they are available from all good running shops or online.

If you read the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you will find a link to the NHS sports injuries page as well as links to appropriate stretches.
