Okay so at a Christmas party, I fell and sprained my ankle! It was a grade 2 sprain so nothing awful and I was good as new after 8 weeks!

I’ve just completed W1 R2 and my ankle just aaaaaches and I’m worried it’s gonna feel worse tomorrow! Does anyone have any advice other than icing it? (My freezer is broke at the moment as well)

Ok... so a sprain is a slight tearing... the tendons and ligaments got over used or more likely in your case over stretched. There’s healing and then there’s healing... the common use of the word is when the damage is repaired... and that’s all well and good for most people, walking about doesn’t stress it too much. Hopefully you were given physio to do and you’re still doing it. The second part of healing is to get the thing back to running healed... that is intact, flexible and strong. I did my ankle in Early November and did lots of strengthening work on it once the pain and swelling had gone. Have a read of this runnersworld.com/uk/health/... hopefully you’ve not got a reinjury and you’re just feeling the old one.
