My granddaughter

My granddaughter wants to start c25k. As I’m on w7 does anyone have any suggestions how we can work this. She will obviously have to start from w1 and I will need to go with her. Thanks in advance.

Can you find a circuit where you can run in opposite directions so that speed and intervals aren’t an issue? The park my daughter and I run most often has a field which is 600m or so round 2 football pitches, so I can run there with her and we can always see each other. The need for that bit depends on the age of your granddaughter of course. We high five when we cross over... this was a suggestion I picked up off here back in the summer and really helps as at comfortable pace I cover a mile in the time it takes her to run a kilometre... she kicks my butt on 1k speed days though. If you think that would work for you, it doesn’t matter that you’re running different runs.

Can be an issue... have a look where your local Sunday league football is played... the advantages are that it’ll be relatively flat, the soft ground will build stamina well and you have a visual of how far you’ve travelled. Disadvantages are that the soft ground is a little more energy sapping, it can get muddy, and you’ll probably want to avoid match times for a nice quiet run.
