I've seen a couple of unusual runners locally and wonder how they do this. When they run, if you were the other side of the hedge, you'd think they were on a unicycle. No head bobbing or bouncing in sight, just a total head glide.

"Funny" running?
That is what we all have aimed for.. Laura gave us the advice..no bouncing...if you focus on it, you can do it..smooth light steps...no boing boing!
yeah - i referred to the other side of the hedge in another post with similar humour. My son ran with me yesterday and said he thought that I ran with my head too far forward, to which I replied "when my mother used to see me off to school before I were ten years old, she said I waddled like a duck, walked too fast, and when running looked like - Here's my head, my backside's coming" How strange to remember that after 50 years. I try to glide as you described, but at the same time conscious that my feet may not be far enough off the ground, risking tripping up on an uneven flagstone or pavement edge, of which there seem to be many around. So if those gliders suddenly disappear from view, you know what's happened.
