I did it, achieved the 10k.
It was really cold and icy as I set off and I slip, slided my way along the paths, very slowly. I then ran the old railway line cycle path. Slushy.
My calf muscles kept telling me they had had just about enough.
It was only as I hit around 7.5k the calf muscles relaxed.
I was urged on by a couple of dog walkers who I see occasionally, who told me I was doing well and keep going.
I had planned 9 but carrying on running just felt right.
All those dark wet miserable morning runs have paid off.
