What running watch gps for Xmas
Don’t know if it’s any good but I just ordered a Huawei Band 2 Pro off amazon for £36 which is a third of the price of all the competitors with the same specification. I’m thinking for £36 you can’t really go wrong.
Fitbits are very user friendly, I have a feeling garmin is too. Worth reading up on reviews.
I don’t use a watch, but I’ve carried Garmin devices on many long walks over the years and they’ve never let me down... that’s the way I’ll be going.
I've got a fitbit charge, which has been great. Yes, you have to have your phone with you for the GPS, but I always take my phone with me anyway.
The only issue I have is that the screen is too small for my poor old eyes to read whilst I'm running, so I have just treated myself to a Garmin, with a lovely big screen (got it cheap from Amazon in the black Friday sale). I'm still getting used to it - not quite as easy to use as the fitbit, but it gives more stats, so take your pick!
Thanks tartancat I think garmin is the way ahead maybe forerunner 35 looks good
I have recently bought a Forerunner 35 (following advice from this forum!) and it's great (I'm aslow-running 67 y/old tho I'm sure it would suit more advanced runners as well)
Thankyou I am thinking this will do me just fine. I just wonder if I will be able to see time on screen without my specs?
I sure hope so, Sunnybraeboats .... the number typeface is BIG!!
Vis a vis the Fitbit -- I have a Fitbit as well (shiny toy syndrome) and the big advantage of the Garmin is that it's specifically designed for running/swimming AND it has GPS (which the Fitbit Charge doesn't). Horses for courses, but I defo recommend the Garmin Frontrunner 35.
Enjoy!
I have a fitbit charge 2, it was about £120 from Argos. It’s easy peasy and I’ve linked it to the fitbit app and fitness pal app. To track your gps you still need to take your phone which I always do for my music. I primarily use fitbit for the footfall tracker and sleep patterns. I’m not sure but think the very pricey newer Fitbit’s have built in gps and work our programs. Those Fitbit’s are 3-400 £
Sorry don’t know much about the garmin!
Just returned after one day, a Fitbit Charge 2 I bought for my wife. To setup you need to download App to your phone. Checked iPhone 4S was compatible and also IOS9 before ordering on Fitbit list. But last week Fitbit decided to upgrade their software app to only allow iOS10 and later. If only they updated their compatibility list!
I’m also thinking of a getting a device of some sort however I have a Pacemaker and have been told that some are not suitable , any advice.
