Week 4 ... check!

So I have just finished week 4 and I am quite proud, except for few stitches the first few weeks (solved with drinking loads), I am not having any issues!

It's just.. when I run I kind of can't wait for it to be over- is this normal? Or maybe using the treadmill is a boring choice?

Yes, I struggle with boredom on the treadmill, much prefer to be outside. Could you distract yourself with a film or something on a device, or a talking book.

The end is the best bit on a lot of runs so, yes it’s normal 😂

What I found was towards the end of the plan I had more than one gear and so when I engaged slow I could stop thinking about the actual running and let my mind wander a little... and that’s the bit I love about running... the headspace it gives me. So looking back I don’t think it was possible for me to enjoy the runs as it took most of my brain power (I’m only a man) to do the running! Once you get on a 20 minute plus run you can find the rhythm and then just relax... it’s worth the wait.

I used to find it really hard to run for 20 minutes without watching something whilst on the treadmill, but having just graduated I can honestly say by week 9 you’ve managed to pace yourself and think of other things.. make sure you have a good playlist 😀

Well done Laura! After week 1 week 4 is the hardest week in my opinion. You are doing really well. I would suggest transitioning to outside if you feel comfortable with that or audiobooks. Immersive stories are great for focusing on something other than running

I don’t think I could manage any gym exercise for more than a few minutes due to boredom.
