Sore knees

After my last run (w 2,run 2), I’ve had the most painful knees that walking and bending down, kneeling down are almost impossible. Maybe I’m not really for pavement running. I’m going to rest them until they’re less painful and then run on grass - does this seem a sensible plan? Any thoughts or suggestions most welcome.

Running off tarmac seems to work best for me - I’m very overweight and have to be extra careful about the impact on my joints. I find that slowing down a little when the aches are getting unreasonable also helps. Hope you’re back to normal soon, Queenie - maybe take two rest days this time ?

Could be a few causes. Bad shoes, hard running, going too fast (fast for you is different from fast for me or the other guy), no insoles, little rest, no knee strengthening exercises.

Start with shoes. Have you done gait analysis? Pace? Go slow, as in ludicrously slow, your body will naturally take you faster as all your running parts get stronger. Put some ice on them in the meantime and get better then start again and listen to your body.
