Why was the start of week 6 harder?!

Why did week 6 run 1 feel harder than the 20mins one at end of week 5? I went into it full of confidence yesterday but came out feeling knackered! Feeling worried now about tomorrow’s 10min intervals.

The start of every week is a step up, so nothing unusual there.

It’s a tricky set of intervals and a longer work out than the end of week 5.

Slow and steady and run 2 should be no problem.

Perhaps I ran faster because I was confident...

Is it longer? I thought it was 2 mins shorter?

20 minutes of running vs 18 running + 6 brisk walking, yes it's longer.

And yes, confidence can make you go faster, this run catches a lot of people out, by you did it so that's all that matters.

I didn’t realise it caught lots of folk out. Glad it’s not just me then! Feeling less worried now thanks

Hehe.... it’s like W5R3 scares people, but it’s shorter than run 2. Two mental challenges right there.

Don't worry Start, tough runs come at different and often unexpected times, all part of the training!! You'll be fine, trust the plan and keep it slow and steady

Thanks- good thing to hear as I am feeling less confident than I was. Perhaps I’ll slow it down a touch and see if that helps.
