Running consistent 5k 32-35 mins most days with the odd 8k Then injury rest for nearly two weeks , now can’t run 5k in 40 !!!! And yesterday had to give up at 20 mins out of breath - feel so fed up . Going back today to try and do something - wasn’t even gremlins fault just pegged out 😡

How long have you been running?

Running consecutive days is best avoided for an absolute minimum of six months, in my opinion much longer. There is advice on this in the guide to post C25K running healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Coming back after injury requires a nice steady build up. You won't lose much condition in a two week lay off, but I always start back slow and steady after a break, certainly not expecting race pace.

Be patient and in a couple of weeks you will be back there.

That's fairly lucky. When I ran consecutive days during my early starts, a knee injury set me back for two months, not weeks. I started doing consecutive runs again after approx 1.5 year of solid running and there are reasons for that as IannodaTruffe says.

I would suggest that your poor legs are probably worn out! Running every day is not going to improve your fitness/speed/stamina. Have you looked at a training programme? Pop over to the Bridge forum and have a look at ju-ju- s plan. This will take you safely to 10k and your speed at 5k will improve as a result. Other days do some core strengthening exercises
