Well done on getting started!

Yes you've got it, a day of rest between each run. The way the programme is designed is that you'd have 2 consecutive rest days once a week, but you can choose to just take 1.

Yes the app recommends a days rest in between

As I’ve progressed through the weeks it’s definitely good to have a break and I’d think may be lessens likelihood of overdoing it?

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

When you run, unlike many other forms of exercise, the impact causes microtears in your muscles, which repair and strengthen on your rest days. Without rest, there is no repair or strengthening and so your injury risk rises dramatically. You can beneficially do other non impact exercise on your rest days which will make you a better runner.

Enjoy your journey.
