So having made the decision to backtrack to w5, I thought if I’m (almost) starting again, I’m going to run from home. Before, I always planned my runs very carefully to make sure it was all as flat as possible. I always drove to my destination because I can’t go anywhere from my house without hitting hills (well inclines, but long ones haha)
So off I set, half my 5 minute warm up walk in the opposite direction so when I start running I’m actually starting downhill (yeah I’m not that brave to start uphill!), hit the uphill bit and it really wasn’t that bad, pumping those arms really does help, then down & up and finally down again into the village, I’m walking now and bloody thankful for it. Reach the half way point and head back, again not as bad as I imagined it would be. The worst thing about the whole thing were the cars driving by (it’s a smallish village so not that many really, but still). I am not used to it but I’ll get used to them.
All in all pretty pleased with this mornings run. A step back in one respect but a step forward in that I am now tackling those hills and not having to drive somewhere is a bonus.
I’m thinking I will repeat this run again, absolutely no rush to get to graduation this time, been there, done that haha
Good luck with your next run 👍
