Running with my feet

I just completed w4r3 at the weekend and towards the end of the last 5 minutes I decided to push a bit harder.

The idea came to me to actively push through my feet at the end of each step using my calf muscles.

I really sped up and used my calves more. Previously my feet have always been pretty passive and floppy when I run.

Any thoughts on whether that is good or bad running technique ... or perhaps just a bit random and strange ?!

You find what works for you, and you run how you run... well done:) Trying to alter our natural gait for running can be disastrous... but you have found your way and it is working.. onward and upward... minus floppy feet :)

How are you getting on with your altered technique One_spot?

If you are using your calves more you may have to spend a bit more time stretching them after your warm down 😸

Well unfortunately I managed to strain my Achilles' tendon W4R3 and I did W5R1 and W5 R2 before seeing sense and taking a pause for recovery.

You are correct about the need to stretch more though. I am hoping I can repeat W5 from the beginning starting tomorrow if the tendon feels up to it, it's a bit tender today so I may wait a bit longer. I am missing it.
