NOT running at 5250 feet altitude!

I am just SO frustrated!! I really wanted to do a run in this place Monument Valley, Utah, USA. I have never run at an altitude like this before - but I couldn,t do it when we arrived last night - too much happening on this coach tour we are doing. And this morning , I awoke to find it RAINING!!πŸ˜ͺ

There will be more opportunities to do a run at high altitude yet - we will be moving on to Denver in the next couple of days - but this place is "special" - although it is Navajo land and I didn't like the look of some of the dogs hanging around when we first arrived.

I think that I might have to redo C25K when we get back home. I am finding that holidaying and running don't mix all that well😞

I am heading that way in July. Hoping to run in LA, Monterey, San Francisco, Yosemite and maybe even the Grand Canyon. Roll on summer!

If you see a knock-kneed lass out running then say hello to me! We're there at the end of July, can't wait :)

Looks like a bit of rain might be a help in that place! I would go regardless - opportunity not to be missed I would have thought!

Enjoy your holiday Bazza, but try to ignore the rain. Sometimes we need to grasp the opportunities when they arrive. Hope you're having a grand time!

It looks amazing Bazza but, given the rain and the dogs, I think you're very wise to concentrate on sight seeing on this leg of your trip. Enjoy yourself m'dear. :)

Make the most of the sightseeing. After a couple of weeks back you'll have recovered any fitness you lost.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to visit desert type places and get rained upon. So far it's happened to me in: Mojave Desert, Death Valley Grand Canyon (where the golf ball size hailstones dented the roof of the hire car we had - we took it back with a kind of shotblasted effect...), and Uluru (Ayers Rock). Uluru was the worst because the guide was harping on about how lucky we were to see Uluru in the rain - the first rain they were supposed to have had in 3 years. The trouble was, we couldn't even see it because of the mist. Fortunately we were there for 2 nights and it cleared up on the 2nd morning.

I think you need to head over to California. They'll welcome you with open arms if you bring some (OK lots of) rain with you!
