Am shortly off for W2R3 but noticed inside knee pain after last run. The days rest has helped plus an ibuprofen yesterday any advice from you seasoned professionals?

Be careful, pain is a sign of injury and should not be ignored. Be great if you could get some advice from a sports physio. I'd advise you to take another day or two rest and if the pain has gone try again but go as slow as possible. If it reoccurs try, after rest, less running and more walking before going back to the programme. It might help your knee get used to exercise

Ok take care, just remember that fatigue and injury are the main causes that people give up. So careful management and you'll smash it!!

Wish I had rested up. Pain increased so knew I was on the wrong tack😫having completed W2R3 I am resting icing compressing and elevating💪 if u take time off is it best to restart programme or begin where u left off?

In your position I would restart week 1. The programme is designed so that your muscles and joints get used to the increasing workload. So rest until the pain has gone. If it reoccurs you need to see a doctor or physio to diagnose and treat.

What a shame was just beginning to think I cld do this🤔does concern me that I may constantly hit these niggling injuries. Did the shine walk for a couple of yrs and got sporadic injuries nothing serious but bad enough to interrupt training it’s so demotivating. My husband has always trained like an athlete and I wanted in retirement to join him so am doing this on the QT to suprise him for Christmas😫

Hey you can do it! Your motivated, you just need some doctor or physio input to treat or manage the injury

Don't despair! I injured my knee last year to the point where I couldn't walk on it without intense pain. Two weeks of anti-inflammatories, one session with a physio (I still do the exercises as part of my warm up) then i was able to gently ease back into normal life. I've had no issues since.

Rest up, listen to your body and you'll be back running in no time. Best of luck!

Thnx for that gives me some encouragement cannot take anti inflammatory drugs due to tummy problem. Did try them yesterday big mistake. Will try the trusted paracetamol and tiger balm🤞

Ice and rest as well. If it doesn't improve see your doctor. Mine prescribed me stomach tablets as well to counteract the anti-inflammatories.

You WILL get there!

Don’t give up hope shelford. I’m currently on the IC & have been for for nearly 2 weeks due to medial ligament pain in both knees. Back walking now, did just over 6 miles yesterday & was pain free. Listen to your body. Seek medical opinion if your pain doesn’t subside (l used a sports therapist)
