As I approach 40 I decided I need to improve my health and fitness and thought this is a great place to start. Jogging is new to me and I’m suffering with knee pain. Can anyone give me some advise ? I’m praying it will improve and not hold me back from achieving my goal

These may help... and have you checked out the pinned post FAQ... loads of advice there
Take it really slowly and steadily... and listen to your body, ( which will complain at times).
Just go gently and keep posting your runs for support and encouragement.. for fitness of mind and body... you are in the right place
Don’t miss the strengthening work for the knees and yoga is good. Land feet flat, avoiding heel strikes. Go for softer surfaces while the pain goes and the strength builds. I’ve had knee issues and again on this, but they’re now stronger than they’ve ever been and I’m running pain free again.
I had knee pain post-graduation. I did the following:
the exercises recommended here every day: nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/k...
added an extra recovery day in between runs
tried switching my running shoes
ran shorter distances (2 miles instead of 3).
After a week the pain was gone and I was back to normal. Good luck finding your solution.
