Staying at hotel last night on way home from Umbrian hols. Took advantage of the treadmill this morning & completed W7R3. Got a huge shock 😱 at how slow I'm running; my speed for the 25 minutes was 4.8 kph!!! Snails are laughing as they lap me 🐌🐌🐌.
At this rate a Park Run would take over an hour! I can't possibly go until I get to 45' or thereabouts, but when will that be? If ever?
Back in the real world on Tuesday for W8R1. Without the treadmill, it'll probably be even slower. 🏃♀️➡️🐌

I understand what you mean about doing the park runs. I’m waiting but don’t mind giving it a go after week 9. Want to complete the programme is my priority early September.
Well done on completing week 7. Your doing ok (🐌 🐌🐌rocks)
I'm def a snail runner - I'm going to try some of the post program podcasts that help with upping speed after I graduate. I usually run at 10/11 mins per km but that's comfortable and don't want to overdo it before end of wk 9.
I do find I go a bit quicker at parkrun however- I think due to running with others and getting cheered on helps😊
I think speed comes with much more practice than you can do in 9 wks so try not to get worried about it - you have done amazing to get this far and the speed will come x
Well done completing W7. If it's of any consolation, I've been overtaken by snails quite a few times
I'm just content that I can now actually run for 25 mins. Seven weeks ago, I was rooted to the couch. As others have said, get to graduation then look at increasing pace, but only if you want to. Personally, I believe it's more important to keep going (at whatever pace) after graduation. If you can increase pace, it'll be a personal achievement for you. Just don't see it as a must-do-at-all-costs target!!
Remember parkrun is not run on a treadmill and you may have been running slower because you aren’t used to the machine. Not that there’s any harm taking an hour for a parkrun: you wouldn’t be the first to do that.
