Cycling on my rest days

So I’ve tried doing a bit of cycling on my upright exercise bike at home on rest days. I thought my fitness was generally improving with C25K which I haven’t struggled with yet (just finished week 4) but I don’t know what it is about cycling - I am in agony just a couple of minutes in! Does anyone else struggle with it and any tips to generally improve? I’m not looking to become a mad keen cyclist, I would just like to manage more than 5 minutes on the lowest setting before giving up!

Is your seat adjusted right? I always have mine so that my leg is almost straight on the downward stroke - any higher and my thighs burn like mad - and like running, take it easy on speed to begin with x

I’ll definitely have a look at the seat - good idea. Thank you 😊

Could be the seat, I don't know anything about inside exercise bikes, however, as a graduate of C25K and also an outdoor cyclist since I was 7 I think you should consider getting a 'proper' bicycle without being "a mad keen cyclist", get outside and have gentle easy, not long cycle rides around the area where you live. Cycling has become much safer now with the number of off-road cycle paths and routes that are now in many areas, away from all the busy traffic.
