Changing from heel strike to mid foot??

So I’m trying a trial run today following 3 months off from a lager related injury. I’m thinking that While im restarting the programme it may be a good time to try and train myself out of heel strike and into mid foot. The short 3 minute runs should break me back gently and allow me to concentrate on my landings is my thought. Is this a good plan?? Any thoughts greatly appreciated

It’s going to take some concentration if you’re anything like me... I tend to be on my toes which I’m trying to stop. Concentrating on my feet does stop me thinking about time though.

I tried that very thing this morning! I did one lap of the track concentrating on my footfall but found my ankles were getting very sore so went back to my usual heavy-footed run

If your running style was suiting you..stay with it😉

Hmmm difficult one . Yeah mid foot strike is prefable but could cause other issues by trying to change .. If you are starting from week 1 ? Maybe try and see how it feels during and after.. certainly stretch after each run and do the strength and flex exercises on the rest day.. to try and aalleviate ny aches and pains in changing
