How do we all keep our trainers smelling fresh and nice? My trainers quite often are wet as I run on the beach and I'm never sure how to clean them - they have developed a kind of stagnant water smell. Any tips appreciated!!

I think drying them out is essential, stuffing newspaper in them was the old way, and I was surprised to see it’s still the done thing the other day when someone posted... there’s not a gadget for that?! I’m shocked.

I’m not sure, others will advise, but if wet with saltwater maybe it’s good to rinse them in freshwater as seawater is good as speeding up destruction of most things. I’m landlocked so rarely see the sea.

Newspaper thing. Give them plenty of time and then hang them on the line for a good blow

Yes def do the newspapers and try leaving a tea bag ( un used 😊) in them overnight. I used to wear steel capped boots at work and they got hot n sweaty after a long day - someone got me to try it and while it doesn't work miracles it does absorb a fair bit of foot pong if you do it regular. 😁

Once dried out.... newspaper, washing line etc as others have said.....those tumble dryer softener sheets are great inside the shoes when not in use. Just use the sheets until the scent runs out, and then replace. Actually they last for ages 😀
