Week 8 highs and lows!

What a mixed week this has been. I ended week 7 having my tech tantrum on an outdoor run which left me miserable (nothing working right, too much stuff). First run of week 8 I did on the treadmill which was okay but the treadmill was struggling and I feared for it. So we spent an afternoon taking it apart, cleaning and servicing and put it together again and I started the second run. Half way through I glanced down and noticed the edges of the belt had totally frayed! I didn't think it was safe to continue so switched it off, grabbed my house keys and legged it off down the road to continue the run! It was awful! Never run on anything other than flat surfaces and I had to pause the app twice to walk for a few minutes. BUT looking at the positive side of this I have totally blown the last of my running inhibitions away now and would have no trouble running from home again! AND I completed the run sort of. Yesterday I went off to my nice flat lovely scenic running place and completed the last run of week 8 slowly, calmly and happily. I had got nervous about this one just like I did in the first weeks because of finding the last one so hard. So so happy when I did it, I had a great fast sprint the last minute! I will be avoiding the treadmill next week and hope to have 3 nice flat outdoor runs to complete week 9 which will be just in time for my 47th birthday and I can't think of a better present to myself. (well apart from the new phone I have bought myself to solve all my tech woes!) After that I am looking forward to adding some hills and running from home. I feel so good after running. Not just the sense of achievement through all this but an amazing physical relaxation and energy. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone is an added bonus! Sigh, happy! :-)

Sounds like a nightmare, but despite that you did it! Week 9 is nice - just an extra 2 minutes and you know you can do that. Go happysouls !
