So.... first 30 min run since school (I think!) in the early 1980’s and the first with an Apple Watch (second-hand, but an early present to myself) to see how the HR is going, as it was all feeling a bit easy. Even my swim sessions are getting boring after 35 mins bombing up and down in crawl, and I’m having to find sets to do to tire myself out a bit. I need not worry! Am easily up at HR max for my age 😂. How come I can still chat with my running buddy??!
Anyway, tonight’s run was the usual up the road from the yard and back again and we know exactly where the km markers are 🙄. It was a bit cooler tonight and the breeze helped lots. The extra 2 mins on the run this week didn’t feel as bad as the step up in W8 to be honest.
Critically, my knees have stopped complaining, at last, and my quads are bearing the brunt of the workload in a manageable way. I won’t make 5km in 30min by the end of the week, but it really doesn’t matter. I’m constantly amazed I made it this far - let alone get this far and enjoy it!
