Grass reduces impact and strengthens ankles in particular, because o irregularities in the surface, but is more tiring.
The decision is yours, so maybe try it and see.

Just run where you are enjoying it most... off road, tracks, grass or harder surfaces... A mix can be useful... I love the off road routes.. over the fields and tracks, but I also enjoy my trips to the coast and the runs along the Esplanade and the coastal path
It is so great outside because each run is so different
If you struggled, was it the heat... maybe?
Hi. I did my early runs on grass (out of the way so no one would see how red I went) I tend to do a mix now of the trails and pavements & I’ve even done a couple on treadmills but I’m not a big fan of that.
I would just say run where you enjoy it most and if you struggle just repeat a few of the sessions until they feel comfortable. Unless you’re training for some specific run/race I wouldn’t worry too much about the surface.
