Foolishly at 6:30pm yesterday, I decided to go for a run. It took approximately 1 minute to realise that it was a mistake, way too hot, but I was on my way now, no turning back. Aiming for my longest ever run. 3.1k is doable now, so I need a new challenge. Increase the distance! Pretend that I’m trying for the B210k of Ju Ju’s plan. For the first time ever I got stitch at 3k. Who knew it was possible? Remembering the advice on here, slow down, deep breaths, I ranthrough it. Staggering along, I gasped over the line at 3.3k nowhere to go except back on myself, I drew a line under it, looked on Strava and despaired. I did think I’d seen a snail go past me, but as it was a mere blur compared to my plodding I couldn’t be sure.
Not sure what lessons to learn here. Don’t try to run in heat? Don’t try to run in heat having been out to a gig in London the night before and lunch with friends for a birthday do earlier the same day? Don’t run while England are still in the World Cup? Have more confidence in myself and ignore the obvious end of a run and keep going if I can?
Rest day. 😂 As if! Too much to do, packing up ready to move house soon (please), prepare for a new kid in the class tomorrow, clean, tidy, shop, do the washing then the ironing, cook ........and 💤
Sorry for the rambling!
