Just saying hello. I’m a little nervous about starting W2R1 tonight. Haven’t ever really run in my life until last week but managed to get through it alive! Just :)

Week 1 is the most difficult and you’ve got through that. Now it just gets easier and more enjoyable. Keep going!

Thanks. That’s reassuring. Think I shouldn’t have read up on what’s in store in the coming weeks- it’s freaked me out a bit!

It really is amazing how each run prepares you for the next. One run at a time and you'll be awesome.

I did the same thing! I scared myself looking ahead to week 3 when I was on week 1, now I purposefully don’t look ahead to the upcoming weeks - I don’t want to know!

You’ll be fine!

I’d never run before starting C25k, now on Week 4. Just keep going; I thought I’d struggle with Week 2 as I could only just run for 60 secs at the end of Week 1, but I surprised myself by being able to do it, and I’m sure you will too!

Good luck for your run later 😀

Ah, thanks so much- that’s exactly it- I only just managed 60secs at a time last week. I guess I’m just going to have to trust Michael Johnson to see me through 🙏.

Wow, week 4- that’s awesome! Very inspiring.

I’ve only been running for 7 weeks before that I’d only ever ran for the bus; I got hung up on the fact I do more of a plod than a run but as my husband says it’s more about building up the amount of time your running than the speed your running at; that will come later. Maybe you could try running at a slightly slower pace. I’m 4ft11 he’s 6ft so my plodding is his brisk walk. Lol. Just remember you’re going faster than those sat at home on the sofa. X

Welcome! This is a fabulous program and it really does work! I’m doing my final run of week 4 tomorrow morning, and I’ve found myself looking back at prior weeks and wondering what all the fuss was about! You will too!

I also have Michael Johnson as my trainer. I’ve found myself saying ‘bye’ and ‘thanks’ to him, and I just hope no-one has heard me! Anyway, I like his gentle encouragement and his tips always seem to come at the right time.

Enjoy your running and remember to keep us updated with your progress! 😀

Oh brilliant that you’ve made it to week 4! Very inspiring.😊

That made me laugh out loud you saying you say “bye” and “thanks” to MJ. I do the same.😂😂

I even said ‘yes, good idea’ when he suggested having a banana!!! 😅😅

I use MJ too - he’s fab! Remember one of his most famous quotes, “the only one who can beat me, is me”. I think he was talking about physically in a race but, for me, it’s more about attitude and keeping going :)

I’m right at the beginning too. Just finished week one and wonder how I’ll ever run for 20 mins in week six but trying to put my faith in the programme! Good luck to you!

Well done for starting c25k. It’s a brilliant programme and you’ll be amazed at what you can do, just take it slowly.

Hello BoS

I've never been a runner either. I'm 47 and have been very unfit for a long time!! I'm amazed that I'm managing C25K so far. I did W2R1 this morning with my friend. 90 seconds definitely felt harder than the 60s intervals in W1 but we jogged at a nice slow pace and it was fine!!! After the first 90 second interval, the other 5 intervals felt a bit easier and the run was good overall. Stick with it. You'll be so proud of yourself. You can do this 😊
