Hi everyone and welcome to a new running week.

We are all so busy.....life can be hectic ........and even more so for us runners!

Fear not, here is a place to take five, and enjoy a chat about our running adventures, trials, tribulations, successes, achievements etc.

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If you're a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi, without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy , healthy and well hydrated week,

Oldfloss, Ju-ju, Realfoodieclub, Bluebirdrunner and me..Millsie-J. Enjoy X

Hi! I'm new to the group ....and to running! I started at Easter and I'm now on Week 7, run 2 (completed today) sometimes if I don't feel ready for the next run I practice the current run a few times so it's easier and it builds my confidence πŸ˜€ xx

Hello and welcome. Sounds like you are doing great! Not far to graduation, enjoy!

πŸ‘‹ Hi! I’m Week 6 completed run 1 yesterday. It was intervals and for some reason much harder than the 20 minute run I had to do last week!

I am suffering a bit with my skin and I think it’s a combo of the heat and exercising/ washing more. I think I might have roseacea (and I already have acne) - if anyone has any tips for this please share?

My daughter suffered with roseacea a few years ago. She used head and shoulders shampoo as a bodywash and it helped clear it up...

Worth a try..😊x

Hi - I too am new to running and have hated it all of my life. Always exercised but never run. Anyway my 65 birthday approaches (I cannot believe it!!) and I wanted to prove to myself that even at this stage of my life I could rise to a challenge - and here I am on Week 7 Run 2 completed - have extended the runs to 30 minutes as I use the word run advisedly (I am not fast by any means!!!) and I want to achieve the 5K so will just extend each week by another few minutes - I have calculated that I will need to run about 42mins to achieve the 5K - so here's trying!!! So grateful for groups like this which actually encourage and assist!

I am also approaching my 65th birthday and like you wanted to try something new. I've never run before except at school and I hated it. This morning I graduated! I am totally amazed and exhilarated . I think I'll be grinning for a week. Well done you. You can do it and congrats on what you have achieved so far.

Oh that is so nice to hear of someone my age doing it. I was the oldest in my C25K group by about two decades!! Well done you - I am going to attempt Park Run once I graduate - are you planning on any follow up?

Keep up the good work. Yes I may do a park run but I intend to do a few weeks repeating week 9 maybe offset with some 20 minute runs before I do. Someone on here recommended that and it makes sense to me. How far from graduation are you?

One week from Graduation - but to tell the truth I am very slow and I think I need to be able to do about 45 minutes continual running to get to the 5K and at present I am at around 30 minutes - the heat has not helped but I will keep going until I have mastered it and like you I intend to just repeat the final week until I feel I am there! Well done anyway - oldies but goldies hey?? I am the oldest by about two decades in my running group and look like 100 after a 30 minute run in the heat!!!

πŸ˜‚I'm very slow too. I reckon about 45inutes for 5k for me too. Never mind the tortoise beat the hare! Good luck with your final week.
