Today’s the day , wk9 r3 , i wanted to do something different to mark the occasion but i’ve not many options and the local park run is on my doorstep so parkrun it will be . i’ve only managed 4k in 30 minutes so far so it’s going to be tough ,.....but 9 weeks ago i hadn’t run since i was at school and i’m 49 so i reckon us C25K,ers are up for a challenge ! Wish me luck 🙃 and good luck to everyone else wether youre just starting on your journey , somewhere in between or like me , about to do one of the hardest things you’ve ever done .xxx

Yes remember you don’t have to run it all. If you run 30 minutes and walk the rest you still get to graduate so don’t injure yourself pushing too hard :) I’m off to my first parkrun this morning too but it’s only W8R1 for me and I don’t plan to run the whole way (unless I’m already near the end when I reach 28 minutes but that’s unlikely as I’ve been slower recently).

Good luck xx Look forward to hearing how you get on , it’s all good experience ! for me just running with others is new , so far i’ve been a lone runner , i think i’m more nervous about running with other people than the actual time or distance 😂

Good luck! Same for me, been running on my own with the app. But I know it’s a flat course and Ive been told that Montrose is a particularly friendly one with a community-oriented feel. It seems quite a few people walk the whole way, more so than at the next nearest parkrun. So it should be fine :)

Mine has a part fondly known as ‘cruella de hill ‘ 😩😂but same , lots of people walk so there’s no pressure . Let’s go smash this 🏃‍♀️

What a great idea! Good luck, and remember the mantra, "slower than that!"

Take it gently... slow and steady and don't be tempted to push too hard....run your 30 minutes, even if you walk the rest of the distance:) just run your way and enjoy :)

Well done!

Good luck with your graduation/park run! I’ve not been brave enough yet to do a park run but hope to do so by the end of August. Lovely morning for it! 🙂

How did it go? I just stuck to the programme, walk 5 run 28 walk 5, at which point I turned a corner and the finish line came into view so I jogged the last wee bit :) Just received my official time, 39'18", not super speedy but ho hum, about 25 people behind me (and 120 in front). Really enjoyed it, I may go back there for my first week 9 run as well. Hope yours went well especially with it being your graduation run.

well done ! i stuck to it apart from the infamous hill , i just couldn’t run it and have anything left for the top , it was that steep my knees were almost touching it 😂 so i had to power walk that bit ! i ran through my 5 min cool down and then some and i was literally saying to myself “keep running keep running “ and i did it !! 5k in 39.10. i’m still coming down from the high , i’m proud of myself and you should be too ! we’re awesome 😎

That’s amazing, we used different approaches on different courses but our times are almost the same! Well done on graduating. Hope I’m not too far behind you.
