Hi, I have started couch to 5k, I have just completely week 4 but have really struggled to run for 5 mins straight without stopping for a few paces. Would you recommend doing that week again? Will I succeed, feel like I’m failing 😐 xx

The mantra is - if you don't complete then repeat.

You are not the first to have to repeat a run by ant means. May I suggest you consider your pace. A lot of people get hung up on the 5k and feel they should be running flat out. Don't worry about distance just run at a pace you can maintain. Conversational pace is what you are looking for. A pace where you could hold a conversation whilst running.

We all have good and bad runs. Chalk it up to experience; enjoy a rest and come back to it it in a day or two.

You didn't fail. You had a bad day. I'm guessing that you're trying to go faster than your body can currently handle. Just slow it down. And then slow it down more. And then more. W4 is quite a hard one. Those 5 min runs seem to go on forever. So when you out next time, slow it right down and amaze yourself.

This is about duration, not speed or distance. And it takes a bit of time to understand what your body is telling you. You#ll be fine. Don't stress and don't push yourself too hard okay?
