This will be me on Monday... just done my week 2 final run and my calves and ankles hurt today! I don’t find the 5 minute cool down to be much use as I ache a lot still after so I do lots of stretches and that seems to help 🙂

I warm up for 10 mins and at least that to warm down with lots of stretching. You could try a banana after your run, especially if you sweat a lot. It will get better and don’t forget the dog will get fitter too!

Stretching straight after a run, as linked to in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... may help.

Hydration is also crucial, with a minimum daily recommendation of 2.5-3 litres, whether running or not.
