Sooo, managed to finish week 6 this morning (at 9am but was much hotter than I expected-lesson learnt!) but this running week has been the hardest so far! There has been nothing elegant, smooth and gazelle like...it’s been puffy, beetroot faced lumbering. (To be fair, that’s my default setting) I’ve really struggled. It’s made me a bit nervous of next week. Anyhow, hope the weather has been kind and happy bank holiday.

Well done 18Windmill! You did it! All the best for week 7! Gazelle like seems rather a optimistic aim! Slow and steady is perhaps the order of the day.

I felt like that at end of week 6 and I got lapped by a homeless person as I was doing my laps of the park 🤣🤣. He just randomly got up off his bench and started running like a greyhound( I’m presuming it was whatever drugs he was on gave him that burst of speed- it couldn’t be he was fitter than lithe athletic me 😜)

But since then I have moaned and whimpered my way through runs 1 & 2 of week 7, accompanied by my daughter, alternately encouraging and nagging me, and even though today’s felt like hell as my thigh was niggly and it was so warm, I ended up with a new PB, the furthest I have run so far.

So keep going, you’ve already done the 25 mins so you only have to repeat that 3 more times and we are on the home strait now.

And I’m not elegant and gazelle like either think red faced hippo and you are spot on. We were back home at 10.00sm and I still have pink cheeks

That has really made me giggle... thanks limberlou! You’re right, i’ve got three more goes at this. Just getting round will do me. Hope the glowing cheeks are better. Have a good day. Ps really wanted to make an inappropriate joke about drugs and running, but thought better if it!

i went early 7 15 to do W6R3 in the rec wearing my hat and fleece, was definitley a tad warm and red by the end but kept going. still I did it and I struggled in W1 with running for a minute so quite amazed how this builds you up and pushes you forward . Roll on W7 assume speed will come later as my running improves. Going to aim to run to the next village pub as motivation so will have to run later in the day :)
