Hello! I’m so thrilled to still be following the plan, having a great time and feeling like I’m making progress BUT tonight my left knee is really aching. Are supports any good? Do I need to splash out on proper running shoes or is it a case of sticking to running on grass? I’d really welcome any advice.
Many thanks

Ps wanted to share the beautiful sunset I saw this evening on my run, isn’t it a joy to be outside enjoying nature and the simple treats around us?!

Hi Jo, definitely need to get gait analysis and some good running shoes. My aching knees improved instantly. Saying that I now have a knee injury but that’s due to overdoing the pace a few times! Enjoy the runs it looks beautiful out there.
Would be interested to hear how you get on. I’m wondering where I need to go for gait analysis… Do regular sport shops do this for you? The last time I tried to buy a pair of trainers from my local sports shop the chappie was less than helpful. It’s a bit nerve wracking as I am by no means a professional runner and I’m relying on the sales assistant, which can be very daunting! I’ll research the best places locally. Thanks again 👍🏼
I got running shoes in week 3 and boy did they make a difference! Don't run in them straight away though, wear them round the house for a couple of days first. Any good sports shop will do a gait analysis. When they asked me to run on a treadmill I said "ok, but you have a 3-minute window cos that's all I can manage yet!" Running shoes aren't cheap (mine cost just over £100) but I figured it was better than injuring myself. Don't forget to post a pic of your new shoes and happy shopping! 😃
May be your posture..I have problems with my right knee as it's slightly longer than my left..( didn't no till an osteo told me now i can see it..) I just put an insole in my left trainer( cheap memory foam one) and no more knee issues......ps don't over overstretch either after run...good luck!!
