Shin splints

So, just completed week 1 run 3, since run 2 I've been suffering the usual aches and pains but worried about the shin splints. Any advice?

Buy yourself good running trainers. Properly fitted, with plenty of cushioning. If possible, get your gait looked at as well.

I got shin splints, from running in old trainers and not doing a few small stretches to begin with. If you watch a race on the TV, they do a few limbering stretches beforehand don’t they. Often while they’re chatting to their coaches or fellow runners. I now imagine I’m them! (Yeah right...we can all dream!)

Running trainers and stretches, equaled no shin splints for me.
