Very well done.πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘

This is a lovely part of the programme, continuous runs.πŸ‘

Start slow and steady until you get past the sticky phase and settle into your comfort zone with your running and breathing.πŸ‘

Just slow up every time you are not feeling comfortable but without stopping.Even running on the spot is still building your stamina.πŸ€”πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Thank you, my legs were struggling less than 5minutes in! Breathing seems ok - I hope it gets easier on my legs soon 😊

Make sure you do your stretching when your muscles are warm.πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘

Do you mean post-run stretches?

Tbae profile image
Tbae in reply to Flaraflarkin

Yes.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘And some warm up exercises too.πŸ€”In addition to the warm up walk and warm down walk.πŸ€”

The post stretching most important because you are lengthening your muscles and that in turn makes them stronger and your recovery is better.πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘

Thank you that's really helpful - I had started doing post run stretches since starting the longer runs - will take your advice and start warm up stretches as well from now on. 😊

Be careful with warmup , not stretches ,warmup exercises , that’s different.πŸ€”πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸŒŸ

The jury seems to be out on warm up stretches.

They say it can weaken muscles before you run.πŸ€”

If used they have to be done more gently and for half the time as post stretching , which are essential.πŸ€”

Someone posted/replied excellent pre run exercise routine recently, wish I could find her link.πŸ™ˆπŸ€”πŸ‘πŸ‘

Good luck.πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘

Hey well done you! I went noticeably slower aswell - I hope tomorrow is easier as I started to doubt myself - but this is a personal challenge and I'm determined to prove it to myself that I can do this and I don't have to give up on things when it gets tough!
