Really starting to enjoy it now! My shins hurt after though, is that normal?
is it ache or pain - aching to be expected pain is not.
It could be shin splints but youβd be very unlucky having them so soon in the plan. check out the faqs on prepping for runs and afterwards.
make sure youβre hydrated properly also - what trainers are you wearing?
sometimes you can jar your legs if the support isnβt adequate from either old/ill fitting trainers...
Ive had shin pain that didnβt actually develop into anything other than it ached for a couple of hours post run... But when I had my gait analysis done they said my running style is neutral if you over/under pronate without correct support that could contribute to shin pain.
Hope its none of these things and just a niggle. Take a nice rest tomorrow... fingers crossed youβre okay
I had a lot of shin aches/pains in the early weeks. We don't really use those muscles much so it's a big surprise when they can hurt so much. It should pass. Self massage, just up and down the length of the shin helps a lot. Give the calves some love whilst you're there too! ππ
Thanks everyone! β€οΈ itβs more of an ache than a sharp pain but Iβll keep my eye on it ππ»π
