W1R3 - lungs and heart are now amazingly making it to the end of the runs but the hip is giving me jip!
Worse on the first 2 runs - enough to bring me to a halt, and pain down the outside of my calf on the same side, felt like my foot was skewed almost - but eased with subsequent very slow runs. Running around a park so I wondered if it was the curve making my outside leg do more work and I should alternate directions??
I did stretches after - half hearted effort at stretching before if I’m honest! 2 days rest now.

It is a known issue of running on cambered roads etc. that you can be working your body asymmetrically, which may be the cause of your pain. The simple answer is to reverse your route and see if that makes a difference.
If it persists, rest up.
If you are not wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running, then your shoes may be contributing.
Take care.
If slowing down worked, then do that. Your body will take a bit of time to get over the shock of being worked, but should get used to the idea over the next 9 weeks. Make sure your shoes are fit for purpose
Thanks both! I went for gait analysis- my shoes seem fine, but my running technique is totally different on each leg. Left (not sore) side - I land on my toes and my heel doesn’t really touch the ground. Right (sore hip & calf) side - I land more heavily in the middle of my foot. So I think my right side may be doing all the work. How should I run? And can I change my technique?
