I posted here. Just as I was getting back into running regularly, my right shoulder started to complain big time. Eventually, I had to go see my GP and a few x-rays later, I was diagnosed with severe arthritis and referral to the orthopaedic team was made.
The diagnosis was not unexpected as I guessed that the mild condition I was originally diagnosed with 8 years ago, had progressed. The really debiltating thing was, and is the constant pain. I stopped running as I was just too knackered after disturbed sleep to get out there. Mrs Psycho has been supportive and I have tried a few runs, well, run/walk/jogs but was just too tired. I thought my running days were well & truly over........are they heck!
Yesterday, after several days of regular pain killers, the switch went back on and my mojo to run returned. I was held up at work this evening so my plan for a run have been put on ice until tomorrow. I am so excited about going back for a run and as it is some weeks since I last ran, I am going to dip into the C25K and chose a week I know I can complete just to get me back into the rhythm.
So, no more feeling sorry for me, my kit is out ready for tomorrow and I can't wait. It won't be a long run but it will be a run.
Happy running all x
