I'm feeling pleased with myself. Yesterday I did my first 7k run. It was 4.75k on tarmac and 2.25k on a grassy trail. I took it nice and gently and I enjoyed it all. The weather was cool and cloudy with just a little drizzle of rain to help keep me cool. Building up distance gradually really does work - this 7k felt no worse than my first 5k felt a few months ago - I still had more in the tank at the end and I even managed a little sprint for the last 30secs. I'm looking forward to a gentle 4k tomorrow, but it might mean wet feet. Does anyone make jogging wellies?
