As an over weight trucker i started doing the couch to 5k as my wife had started at her works, which gave me a bit motivation started November ish and is going brilliant.

Done the walking to start and worked upto the 5k and managed first one 45 mins and now im 29 mins to 28.10 my aim is to get under or around 25 any tips for a 53 year old training by myself. Just like to say this is a really good idea and so easy to get started 😀

Speed comes with miles on your legs, not running hell for leather on every run.

If you read the guide to post C25K running you will find links to speed healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Even if speed is your main target, 70-80% of your running should be at an easy conversational pace.

Thanks for the positive comments, there are loads of hills where i run so it a great change to run on the flat and its not hell for leather its just trying to keep a steady pace im comfortable with. I seen the guide and didnt really make sence and as for conversation while running look a bit daft talking to myself. So just keep putting in the miles is the best answer. thanks .

Sorry, I don't know what link you have followed, but I don't think it is the one I have given you above.
