Looking ahead to Week 4 and noting the 5 min run......I average 15 min a mile which is a bit fast but feel like I can walk faster if I slow down. I know I need to so any pointers ?

It doesn't matter if you can walk faster than you run, as long as you actually maintain a running action, which is defined by having both feet off the ground simultaneously during each stride.

The pace you are aiming at is the fastest pace at which you can still hold an ungasping conversation. This is all covered in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Imagine a snail , then imagine it in slow motion and tbats the pace you need . The 1st 4/5 weeks about strength building and stamina , hence the sometimes non sensical modules . Pace comes later . Slow slow slow ...simples

A few months post grad, and I’m actually more relaxed slow jogging than fast walking - and a wee bit faster when jogging than fast walking. Weird but true. I am soooo slow - but I feel I am gathering up stamina for a push of speed come the spring (with, literally, a following wind). Anyway, to echo everyone else, speed comes later.

You’re already lapping folk on the sofa and soon will be in front of other runners
